Upcoming School Board Elections…

As the November election approaches and mail in voting begins,  the WCA is sending this video link to help inform you — as a voter — about the critical issues facing the Lower Merion School District. These issues range from the future of Oakwell to the implementation of both full day kindergarten and later school start times to name just three.

Five open positions on the nine member LMSD school board will be among the many important positions on the ballot. Both the Democratic and Republican Parties have fielded full slates of candidates for these positions. The Inter School Council (ISC) recently sponsored the nonpartisan school board forum linked below, which was conducted by the student debate teams of both LMHS and HHS, and filmed by the student run Harriton TV station.

Five of these candidates, once elected, will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the direction of our school district over the next several years. It’s up to you to choose whom you believe are the best people to fill these critical positions.

The WCA believes it is an integral part of a civic association’s role to provide its members with information needed to make decisions about issues facing our community. We think by watching this video, you can gather that information.

Please watch — and vote either by mail or in person on November 7th!

Thank you!
