Dear Neighbors, The last few months have been busier and more challenging than any in the past. Wynnewood is feeling pressure on its residential character and traffic control, safety, and the need for infrastructure improvements are recurring concerns. The Board of Commissioners tries to balance the rights of property owners and developers with the needs of affected neighbors and neighborhoods. My active involvement with the WCA and the exchange of information and ideas helps me better represent your interests. Many of the issues before us are discussed elsewhere in this site. In addition to the numerous land development applications we are seeing, long term planning for future township needs is occurring. Some of the areas we are studying include; the future needs of our Fire services and Library system, review of our financial reserve policy and improvements of our business tax collections, how to preserve our historic resources, the revitalization of the Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, and Merion/Cynwyd business districts, the update of our Comprehensive Plan, implementation of our Open Space Plan, the identification of ways to protect our environment, and long and short term infrastructure improvements. Updates on all of these topics and more are given at monthly WCA meetings. Contact Cheryl Gelber (Ward 5) or your other Wynnewood Commissioners, Jane Dellheim (Ward 8) or Liz Rogan (Ward 7) with your ideas or concerns. Sincerely, Cheryl Gelber, Ward 5 Commissioner
